7th Primafamed Workshop
4 –6 May 2015: Accra, Ghana

The 7th Primafamed workshop, jointly organised by our Division's EuropeAid project team and the University of Ghent, was funded by the EuropeAid project (Strengthening primary care through primary care doctors and family physicians). The conference focused on strengthening primary care research in Africa and was attended by delegates from across the African continent. For more information about the Primafamed network, please visit their website​.

Day 1: Chronic care in the African context

1.       Prof Jan de Maeseneer (Belgium) and Dr Akye Essuman (Ghana) on The challenge of dealing with multimorbidity in chronic care.

2.       Prof Naomi (Dinky) Levitt (South Africa) on Chronic Disease Initiative for Africa and addressing non-communicable diseases.

Day 2: Presentations on innovative strategies addressing the chronic care issue
